April Ross
April Ross is only one of only a handful of beach volleyball players to have won medals at least twice in an Olympics. Alix Klineman, taking part for the very first time at Tokyo's Olympic Games is hoping to secure her third medal. In addition, Ross will be aiming for the first Olympic gold. With her age of 39, this may be her final opportunity to claim the Olympic gold. She is still confident, however. Ross was reported on NBC Boston as saying that when you perform at your very top, even if you do well, we'll get the gold. Also, I am going to rely on a bit of good luck. Ross, who was born 1982 and lived within Costa Mesa California with her mother and sister, first began participating in sports at the Newport Harbor High School. Ross competed in many sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball as well as basketball, running and track. In the last sport, she clearly stood out. When she played in her time at the high school level as per her college biography she played as a middle-blocker, outside-hitter and setter. She was awarded by the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the year in 1999 for her achievements. Her skills in volleyball brought her the Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. Ross and Klineman are doing what they do since the year 2017. The reality is that Ross was a major player on the beach volleyball circuit prior to the pair. In reality, she's been a winner of numerous major tournaments and one of them was a volleyball superstar. From 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently served as her and Klineman's coach. Kessy as well as Ross proved to be strong on the international circuit, winning the world championship in 2009 with each other. They won a Silver Medal during the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor won gold, ahead of them. It was fate that had them. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner when May-Treanor retired. In 2016, the pair won bronze in the Rio Olympics for beach volleyball. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated high school. And her run in the Trojans' ranks was one to remember. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman of the award and become an All-American. The Trojans had the chance to make it to the Final Four with her help. The Trojans suffered a significant personal loss during her sophomore year, but was still successful in achieving the All-American award. During her final two seasons with the Trojans' program they won victory by winning the national title in consecutive years. The achievements of each individual have established her place as a legendary volleyball player. She was awarded the Honda Sports Award 2003-04 for the nation's best female collegiate player. Ross studied international relations at USC. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the privilege of watching her daughter become a beach volleyball superstar. Ross's mother passed away from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. But she still keeps her mother in her his heart. Margie is a beach lover and in daily life, is still a source of inspiration for her.
